coming of gozer, part duex.
please give her all sorts of encouragement, like "quitting smoking doesn't make you pretty," or "who are you trying to impress?" or "smoking is cool."
good luck!

larry king and donald trump: world leaders
KING: Do you know how to reach a blogger?
TRUMP: I have no idea. Everybody that works for me knows. Me? I have no interest.
KING: I have no idea how to reach a blogger. I've never sent an e-mail. I don't know what I'm doing.
well larry, i'm glad you asked - it's quite simple.
simply compose a strongly-worded letter in your best formal script onto good letterhead (the heavyweight, 92-bright kind), put it in an envelope, postmarked to:
A. Blogger
123 Blog Lane
Blogtown, USA
but michael bolton and i both agree...if donald trump had a blog, i'd prolly read it.

sharing = caring.
for christmas, i got you all a photo of my gall bladder before it was removed in august 2004.

that light pink wormy thing is my bladder, which, normally, should look like a deflated balloon. unfortunately mine was engorged with rocks.
(see katie? i found it!)

over/underrated christmas jingles
overrated:
1. oh, holy night
2. carol of the bells
3. rudolph, the red-nosed reigndeer
underrated:
1. mary carpenter's "merry christmas, darling"
2. paul mccartney's "a wonderful christmas time"
3. simon, the disgruntled red-nosed ex-exec who's planning on making another stop at a liquor store before he has to head home to the old ball and chain and explain to his kids that for christmas this year, their helping daddy look for his pension plan.

luccy, you got some splainin' to do.

luccy, that tall blonde with the bad attitude, is totally spinning records TONIGHT at blue ice on broadway.
and, from what i understand, if they bring in more than ten people, they get to have a regular night there (and that, friends, is how you take a weird bar and turn it into awesome).
come down and watch luccy spin! and dance! and drink! all in the name of baby jesus.

friday potpourri
i came into work today and opened my bloglines to see a new post on whatevs - and i'll admit that i still get a little excited when grambo posts, though the p.h.c. as of late consists mostly of sports feedback and local news briefs.
but grambo's post about the elephant in the room that no one ever wants to talk about - the lack of editorial and/or quality content in blogs anymore, and the diminishing number of quality bloggers who make an effort to formulate a thought, reciprocate feedback, and actually make you think, was so fucking refreshing i don't know what to do with myself.
at the risk of looking like a bandwagon hopper, i'll admit i've only IMed people (because i'm chicken) to tell them that i really don't like pink is the new blog (or how much i can't standmadonna esther for that matter).
i'm sure mine will be one of many renaissance posts in response to grambo's, and i've admitted from the beginning that, yeah, i've always know that this blog has been far inferior to real bloggers who actually have something to say, and i'm guilty of bringing my digital camera with me everywhere, and talking about what show i went to see the night before.
but, like many, the truth is i miss having something to read. lately i stick mostly to pages that my friends write, and just reading stereogum's headlines, and snickering at go fug yourself, and pretending i'm smart enough to digest 1115.org's behemouths.
luccy and i talked last night about the difference between livejournals and blogging, myspace and blogging, and why headlines like "murder in the blogosphere" make me absolutely nauseous. blogs never murdered anyone.
there's some that have stuck around - lindsayism is still a thought-provoking, clever read. for pop culture, goldenfiddle can have my money. spoonbender is still good at confirming my inferiority. and 5ives is just good.
and, i know she's my sister and all, but my sister deserves so much praise, it's disgusting. she's a writer's writer. she's talking about something. she's making a point. she has a thesis. when you have a genuine wit, a working brain, and a true talent with words, something will happen for you naturally, and it makes me a little sad that no one cares about the fact that last week, she was on a panel in NYC answering questions about her book.
i know bloggers aren't supposed to want notoriety, but i think in charges' case, she deserves it.
ah well. i just think it's funny that after grambo's post, he gets a comment that says, "eff you dood - trent rulez!" it's rhetorical. why put the effort into writing something substantial when that's the kind of audience that's listening?
and lastly, because there's a certain level of hypocrisy you can always expect from the bible, here's photos from thanksgiving.
have a good weekend.

how do you change a listing on google that you didn't submit?
i think you'll agree with me that "advice, news and life from anne in colorado" doesn't quite fit the bill.
