project spamalot, cont.

so, after receiving what seemed like a sincere email from retep0201 (which quickly made me realize just how dense i am, not seeing that retep is peter spelled backwards), i actually got three more from him that day.

"he" sent me ("he," since i still have no proof of whether this is a real person or a bot, a spammer or simply a confused german gentleman) an email with the subject "here is why," which included a link to his online kodakgallery.com photoalbum, and though i am really weary of phishing, i clicked through and saw photos of this old dude and his wife, on vacation in coppenhagen, which just confused me even further.

is retep/peter a real dude? if he is, how'd he get my email address? if not, why is this bot so clever that it actually compiled a photojournal of retep in an attempt to phish my email address?

i think they just went on a cruise or something. i still get emails from him, most of which contain more links to his photoalbums.

whether or not he's real, it's hard to imagine pestering a mug like that on AIM, so i mostly leave him alone anymore.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

stay tuned for the story about the danish (icelandic? dutch?) university kids that somehow put me on their email listserve and continue to send me their papers for review!
